CERT: Error acquiring new certificate: Failed to upload CSR: 429 - Rate Limit

Server Version#:1.40.4.8679-7000

I’m unable to connect to my server remotely anymore.

The logs indicate that the server is unable to retrieve a new ssl cert and is being rate limited. Do I need to have something altered by the Plex team as other similar threads seem to indicate or is this something I can resolve myself please? I’ve taken the server offline for now to prevent it continually calling the API.

Certificate reset.

Please restrart PMS and give it an extra minute to download and setup the new certificate

Do you know what caused the issue? Is it some behaviour that triggered the rate limiting that I can avoid in future, please?

In your case, it was a normal certificate refresh which , while negotiating a new certificate with Let’s Encrypt, didn’t complete. (usually their side)

When this happens, please just call out to me and I’ll fix it.

It looks like this is happening on my server as well. Any chance you could reset? Seems that the cert expired two days ago and now can’t renew, with the same “API rate limit exceeded” message in the logs.

Certificate was also regenerating. I’ve reset it.

Restart Plex and give it a minute to download the new certificate.

@ChuckPa I’ve got the same “API rate limit exceeded” message in the log. Been waiting a few days hoping it would resolve on it own.

I looked at your account.

You had a whole bunch of abandoned servers listed. I removed them for you.

I found the one active one and reset the certificate for you.

Please restart the server.

Mind helping me out and resetting mine? Looks like this is happening with mine as well.

Server “Halton” has a valid cert. Server was last seen 45 minutes ago.
