ERROR - Couldn't accept new TLS connection: Too many open files Plexmediaserver service crash

Hello!

Going through this thread http://forums.plex.tv/discussion/174909/thousands-of-tls-connection-too-many-open-files-errors-and-eventual-server-crash

The issue seems to be coming from the Samsung TV Plex App, is there any news regarding this issue? is there a permanent “real” fix coming? I have a couple of heavy users that all use the Samsung Plex App, and if they are watching say a “marathon” of something this almost always happen, in the last post of the thread above it sais that disabling direct play fixes the issue but that feels like a temp-fix to me. I went the hardway and set secure connections on my end to required because i believe the samsung Plex app doesnt support this? Problem with that “fix” is probably more players dont…

Attatching a log with the errors if its any help for anyone. Any info/tips/help regarding this is much appreciated

are you using linux or windows? i used the fix that allows more connections and that resolved it for me…

Well wouldnt say resolved it more circumvented it

Im on linux, ubuntu 14.04. So i COULD change the upstart script for Plex to allow more open files but im just prolonging the issue it feels like, but sure that is a temp-fix

i upped the limit by ridiculous amounts, now the plexmediaserver service gets unresponsive with new error messages in the log files. When checking open files by process when this happens even tho the plexmediaserver is unresponsive the value keeps steadly climbing and i have to restart the service to get it to work again…

any further update on this? i am also having this issue

haven’t had this issue in a long while, the issue seamed to go away when changing the upstart script to allow more open files.
