Error: Errno 10054

I think this is a great tool and its working fine so thanks for that.

I only have one problem. After some amount of time i get the error down here.

When i restart the program its working again. But its not handy to restart the program every time when you wanna see a movie.

Does somebody know the solution to this?

Hi There, was just about to post... I get the same, everything works for quite a while and then the above? any suggestions

Hi Guys

Thank you again, everything works like wonders for a while then I get the 10054 forcibly closed connection error.

Windows 8

Plex Media Server 0.9.7.27-d02a10a

I have tested new/old build of plexconnect & plex media server...

This mainly happens if ATV3 was idle for a few minutes in the library or anywhere else for that matter.

When does this happen?
>> "broken connection by external host"?

Is there a chance, that your ISP/cable box cancels and restores your connection somehow in the middle of the night?

see http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php/topic/70948-error-errno-10054/

I have merged the posts as it is the same issue ;)

Hi, happens on random times, it doesn't have to be idle for to long, ordered another router for testing tomorrow, will keep you posted, will also test with ethernet and post results.

Just to chime in, same issue with me, happens randomly. Have only used it on windows xp, might test it on mac and see if does the same.

You can merge posts?

:-D

Hey guys... please do me a favour:

Temporarily replace your DNSServer with the attached one. This one won't create a all-time connection to DNS master, but only "just in time" when needed.

This should hide this error. Please check, give feedback. And don't pass on those news otherwise... :-D

EDIT: plex forum had my python file for lunch...

EDIT: grab it there: http://pastebin.com/vjr6qzq3

Thanks for the update, testing it out now. Will report back if anything happens...or not

No, i checked this. When i get this error the router/modem does not give anny errors.

Win server 2008 R2.

And i also did get the error again with the other DNS server. So that didnt fix it.

Ok, mine has been stable the whole day, Win 8

Whatever you did fxed mine, i will continue testing and give feedback

Will run on xp from tomoorow nd let you know

i tried it out with a fresh install of plexconnect but that didn't work.

And i tried a fresh install and with the other DNS but that didn't work also.

Every time i get the same error.

Internet research seems to indicate, that the given error (10054) in windows is kind of a collective error for nearly everything that might go wrong on the socket interface...

Based on this, it is extremely difficult to debug - especially without a windows system :-D

Anyway, I do have a couple of ideas that I will implement in code in the coming days, stay tuned!
