Error: Problem saving channel mappings

Server Version#: 1.42.1.10054

When trying to add my tuner back into Plex via the Tuner Setup, it comes up with all channels and everything looks good after specifying the .xml guide. When I click next I get the error There was a problem saving channel mappings. Please try again.

This came up quite some time ago and I ended up reverting back to a previous version of Plex Media server and then it worked fine. I updated server to the latest version hoping it was fixed but still the same error. I guess I will be going back to the old version again.

Funny thing is it is just for the initial setup. Once the channel mappings are in, the newer version works fine.

The old version I have to revert to to make the Setup Tuner work without the error is Version 1.41.6.9685

Where can I download the old versions of Plex Server ??

Not sure if they have them posted. I saved it from when it last happened and noticed the issue.

You can find the last 3 older versions when it updated in your plex media data folder in a folder called updates.

The most common cause for an error when saving the channel mapping is when an EPG channel is assigned to more than one tuner channel.

In this case that is not the problem. Plus it does work in the version from May but not the latest version.

Also there are now alot of issues with playback errors where there wasn’t before.

I am just gonna have to use different software for the tv channels as plex just isn’t working and not reliable. Wish it would be fixed though as I have been really pleased with Plex up until that point. Everything for me worked just a list of wants to make things a little nicer. But now with the updates and new app, alot of things are broke and not working as good as before or at all.

May need to go with new software for everything. I do run emby also and no issues with the live tv there or any other programs I have tried.

Really hoping they get it all sorted or go back to when things were working and improve from there.

I too was having an issue with channel mapping and EPG with v1.42.1.10054.
But I installed the latest version 1.42.1.10060, and everything is working again..

Just tried it with that latest version and still gets the error. i go back to the older version and maps the channels just fine.

Just did some testing with the latest version. Channel numbers were not the issue. Looks like they put in a limit on the new updates to 640 channels.

Even with knowing that. I have even only added ten channels and still have issues with playback errors. Yet works perfectly fine in my other programs such as tivimate and emby.

Also seeing the same issue. My HDHR Prime has 309 channels identified. I confirmed no duplicate mapping, but also get the “There was a problem saving channel mappings. Please try again.” When I look at the logs, I see a “URL too large” error around the channel mapping sections.
