Server Version#: Version 1.24.3.5033
Player Version#: Version 4.63.0
Since my update to the latest version (1.24.3.5033) I’ve been getting this error every time I want to play using the web player any of the MP4 files that used to work perfectly well before this update. This is happening on my Drobo 5N.
Also, I have seen reports of the exact same problem on other servers like Windows, Smart TVs, Linux, etc.
I have been the same problem few days ago with 1.24.0.4930-ab6e1a058 version.
After a lot of days movies worked perfect few days ago “This server is not powerful enough to convert video”… Why ? The same movies that worked in tv, pc web browser now dont work ?
I tried to update to 1.24.3.5033-757abe6b4 nothing changed.
Transcoding is set to off.
I am using a J5005 board with 16gb ram. If i use the option “optimize for tv” it convert 1 hour of video in less than 5 mins… So it can easy convert on the fly.
I used video transcoding off by 3 mounths. All video worked. Now the same video dont. I changed nothing. I dont upgraded plex, i maked nothing.
My fault ? Why ?
In addition the correct text is “this video need transcoding. Please turn it on” and dont server not powerful enouth. Wrong text.
And i still not understand why video worked with transcoding off and now dont.
As stated on my post, me and many others are having this problem after a server update, without having changed any configuration at all, many including myself have tested changing settings including activating/deactivating the transcoding and nothing changed, error is still happening. And this happens on video files that worked perfectly well in the past, so clearly this is not a user error.
I tested it on Web, Roku, and Android got the same thing each time. Didn’t matter the player it was viewed on, it would have the same results. I rolled it back and now it works fine on all players again. So it is differently the server’s update that messed it up. I have seen many threads on the same issues but not many had useful information to fix it. The same issue was on Web players links, NAS links, and Windows links all stating the same thing about the update.
