Error when installing latest version on Synology Armv8

Server Version#: v.1.43.3.10896-cb3ebc72d
Player Version#:

Installing PlexMediaServer-1.43.3.10896-cb3ebc72d-aarch64_DSM72.spk on an Armv8 Synology (DS925+) generates an error: “This package is not supported on the platform of Synology NAS or is incompatible with the current DSM version”.

The DS925+ is NOT an ARM powered device. It uses an AMD Ryzen V1500B CPU.

For the AMD CPU you need to install the Intel/AMD 64bit Plex package.

If you have DSM 7.2.2 or higher installed Then you also need to install Plex for DSM 7.2.2+.

Ah, so the problem is in the NAS Compatibility Chart (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MfYoJkiwSqCXg8cm5-Ac4oOLPRtCkgUxU0jdj3tmMPc/edit?gid=1274624273#gid=1274624273), which has the 925+ as an ARM device (row 312)

I dropped a note to Plex. They’ve updated the spreadsheet.

@FordGuy61 Thanks for getting the guide updated.

@runes On behalf of Plex please accept our apologies.

Unfortunately it was an easy mistake to make. Someone probably copied and pasted the wrong line and did not notice the error.

In any case, I hope you now have Plex installed and running.

Happy Plexing!
