When trying to manually apply this update (PlexMediaServer-1.40.2.8395-c67dce28e-x86_64.tpk) on my Terramaster F4-421 NAS, running TOS 4.2.40-2203011626, I got the following error screen and the update failed, after what looked like having decompressed the update: “Error! The file is incorrect and cannot be installed!”. I tried re-downloading the update and reinstalling it, but got the same error each time. I was careful to make sure I selected the x64 version for TOS 4, not the ARM or the TOS 5 version.
After that failure, I went to the Plex Server application page in TOS, and found an “Upgrade” button there. which is where I typically have found Terramaster’s app updates in the past (which are usually woefully behind, which is why I usually download the updates from Plex and manually install them to keep updated). I clicked on that “update” button, and it actually installed the update.
All is okay now, but I thought I should let you know there’s an issue with the installer for Terramaster x64 TOS 4.
