Plex app not updating to latest version TerraMaster

Initially the Plex Media Server application would have an ‘Update’ option if there was a newer version, but the server or application don’t seem to be checking for updates or downloading them. All I have is ‘Stop’, ‘Uninstall’ and ‘Send to Desktop’. Any suggestions short of uninstalling/reinstalling would be greatly appreciated. When I tried to do an uninstall/reinstall I lost all of my Plex configuration and had to restore.

You’re not updating from the app store? Updating within the server app web interface has never been possible on NAS devices afaik

Hi. Thanks for responding! Yes I tried from the app store, but no option to update, just uninstall.

I am also having this issue and its driving me insane.

Download the correct version (Intel or ARM) of the media server from here: Media Server Downloads | Plex Media Server for Windows, Mac, Linux, FreeBSD and More

Once downloaded go to your TOS desktop, choose “Applications”, then “Settings”, then “Install Manually”. Browse to the “xxx.tpk” file you just downloaded and then click “Apply”.

Once installed you should have the latest version of PMS directly from Plex on your NAS. Once done this way IGNORE any information you will get from the TOS Application store - it will be out-of-date and meaningless.

I’ve done it this way for the past several versions and it has worked flawlessly. Good luck.
