Server Version#: Version 1.41.6.9685
Player Version#: 10.26.1.123
Tuner Make/Model: HDFX-4K (FLEX 4K)
Guide/Lineup name:MY CHANNELS

Channel number/Name:Channel 2.1 (CBS)

Error occurs on ANY channel. I have checked the HDHOMERUN IP address and it matches IP address in PLEX.

The full error message is “there was an error attempting to tune the selected channel. Please check your connection and try again.”

I am able to view the same live channels using the HDHOMERUN app.

You’ll certainly need to upload your logs.

How do I upload a log?

Log files have been uploaded. Also uploaded screen shots of error received while attempting to select a channel from the Live TV guide. HDHOMERUN is fully functional from my HDHOMERUN app.

I have the same issue after updating to the latest server version.

In general, we users are waiting on the FFMPEG upgrade to 6.1 to finish work that was done on the Live TV & DVR to add HEVC encoding. Right now it only does software decoding of the tuner stream which has put a spotlight on weak CPU’s in NAS’s and other devices. You also need to make sure that in each tuner setting you have “CONVERT VIDEO WHILE RECORDING” off.

For the new IOS and Android mobile clients, they don’t support mpeg2 so all streams need to be transcoded and coupled with the software decode it may be enough for failure.

I was having a similar issue. I’d get that same error trying to watch live TV, and anything that was recorded would not play.

I had this setting set to Always. Switched to HEVC Sources Only and I was able to play both again.
