It means that I cannot recreate the problem you are having. So maybe maybe it's on your end somewhere.
Are you still having the issue, or was it possibly a glitch on ESPN's side?
If it's only "Live" feeds that are giving you the issue, then the plugin is working. Are you able to play them in Safari without issue?
Yep, it works in Safari. I am not sure if it’s just live streams or not, I need to check on that.
But again, this is the only plugin giving me this issue, my “setup” (not sure what you mean here again, software/hardware ?) is fully functional elsewhere.
Are you still having issues nobody?
if so, the only thing I can think to check is your Flash plugin version. (10.1 is not supported in Plex)
if you do have Flash 10.1, you'll have to reinstall a previous build.

Yeah, I can browse content fine but the streams never load. Tried both live events and replays. Not sure how to check my Flash version but will google around and report back...
Shockwave Flash 10.0 r45 — from file “Flash Player.plugin”.
So that's not it. I'll keep digging though. I'm on Comcast, a known ESPN3 affiliate.
Any luck, Jflo?
I'm having the same problem - can browse all ESPN3 live and replay events, but when I select one it gets stuck on "Opening Stream" and never loads. I can watch directly on the ESPN3 website without problem.
I migrated back to Flash 10.0.xxx - still no luck.
Thoughts?
I get audio and no video. just a black screen. Tried reinstalling flash player and that didn’t change anything.
What version of flash are you currently using?
I’m 99% sure this is a flash issue.
Dbl_A.
Thanks for creating the plug in first off. Getting good content is such a pain and more often than not is up to the individuals rather than the providers.
I am a total newb to Plex, haven’t even set it up yet at home but I read on another forum about Plex and your plug in which brought me here. So I plan to install Plex 9 at home tonight as well as Plex for iOS. From what I understand your plug in runs on the computer not in the iOS app, but I was confused because you mentioned app store, so maybe there is a plug in through the iOS app too that you can get from with in the app that I don’t have yet. Also, my iMac is current. Am I understanding it right that I need to roll back to pre 10.1 flash to get it working correctly. And is that necessary to watch espn3 on an iPad? Is it streaming from the Mac or straight off the internet? The other thing I heard was that the plex app could be installed on an Apple TV using ATV flash, not sure if this is in conjunction with Boxee or separately. I haven’t flashed my Apple TV but would consider doing so to get access to ESPN3 and maybe NHL gamecenter on my Apple TV/HDTV.
Any feedback and help you can give a johnnycomelately would be great. I’m quite technically capable but I just don’t have any experience or understanding of Plex and how it works yet. Thanks.
I am on Time Warner Cable and went through the verification process in Safari. The content starts up and the player loads, but all I see after that is “Loading…” then after awhile I’ll see the play button, streaming quality, etc bars appear on the screen. Running Flash 10.0.x.
Hey Roland, Welcome to the forums!
ESPN3 is meant only for Plex for Mac. (I haven't tested myself, but I think there might be a way to get it working in iOS...)
When I said "App Store," it was in reference to what is now known as "Plex Online" (prior to Plex 9, "Plex Online" was called "App Store")
Yes, you'll probably need to downgrade your Flash version (I am successfully using version 10.0.45)
I don't have any experience with AppleTV. Hopefully, Santa will bring me one for X-Mas (I think I've been good this year)
The forums should be your friend though...
Also, FYI- you'll need access to ESPN3 from your ISP, in order to actually use it.
Hey LinPlex,
I'm not sure I understand what you're having problems with here.
Are you able to watch ESPN3 in Safari?
if you can see the player controls in Plex, then you should be ok. Maybe you can try another stream.
It is oddly hard to put into words. Let me try again.
The ESPN3 plugin loads a list of available content then brings up the menu. I select a random football game then the screen goes black with a small grey box that reads "Loading...." after 3 minutes or so the screen shows a large round play button, seek bar, etc instead of the actual content. It is literally the player you see in Safari when playing content from ESPN3 just oversized and nonfunctional.
Keep in mind I mean the Flash player controls from ESPN3, not Plex player controls.
ok. if you see the large "blue" play/pause button from espn, then it's working...
Does this happen with every game you try, or just once in awhile?
I would consider it working if any video actually played, but it always hangs at loading with the large blue button.
When I say, "working," I mean that Plex is loading the Flash player properly. It appears that (for some reason) the content isn't playing. (which might be an issue with your ISP)
Did you say whether or not you are able to use ESPN3 in Safari? (without problems)
I’m having the same problem. I can view ESPN3 on Safari, but the plug-in does not work. It hangs forever on “Opening Stream”.
I have a Mac Mini with the most current OSX, the most current update of all the Plex software and the current Flash. I read about the issues with Flash, but have those been resolved since the last post on this thread?
I’m on an ISP that doesn’t have ESPN3, but Safari accepted my credentials from my other ISP that does. I may have to take my Mini over to a friends place who has an ISP that does have ESPN3 to test.
Same here....
Same, works in Safari but hangs with only audio on “opening stream”
Guys, it is FOOTBALL SEASON!
Should be fixed soon, in the mean time feel free to donate to the cause. ;)
