The Android app is trash. Period. Use another Platform like Roku or IOS.
Sites like Android Authority are on board with this CEO driving this platform jnto the ground. KUDOS…
New day, same junk Plex issues… same dead beat CEO
Seriously…How absolutely ibcompetent has this sh*tbag product become? Just had another downloaded item say there was an error. Go hoke, delete the download, redownload it and it works. The product is trash and instead of fixing it, your clown CEO has you fixing ceap no one has heard of and adding junk that has nothing to do with what your product is. YOU GUYS ARE NOT NETFLIX…YOU WILL NEVER BE NETFLIX. I dont care how many swimming pools this lame duck CEO needs… HE ISNT GOING TO GET IT THE WAY HE IS RUNNING THIS SINKING SHIP.
Seriously… Id love to have the Plex CEO sit next to me for even fifteen minutes and watch me use this lemon of a product. I know he isnt using it or he woukd be thourughly embarrassed. On the Fold 3, now when in portrait orientation, selecting an item doesnt register…i have tobflip to landscape, select it, then flip back to portrait.
Sounds like a “you” issue.
It would be a “me” issue if all this “glitches” werent happening for the massive majority of us and just linger for years. It is also isnt a “me” issue when they are startung to write articles about how this company has loat sight of what they are…actually, it is soundibg more like a “you” issue.
Plex works nearly perfect for me. What seems to be the issue that you’re having?
Download won’t work until you have s cell signal, acrolling bar has NEVER worked. If you leave the app to use a different one, then come back, ot will show libraries as empty until you force close and reopen the app. If you leave the app to say check emails and come back, the subtitles will no longer play until you force close the app. Downloaded videos are often unplayablez but when you delete them and redownload them they play fine. Finished episodes on the app are never marked as played on the server. Often all the items on your libeary menu will flash like strobelight. Items cant be selwcted unless you flip the device (portrait to landscape or vice versa). When you pause a video and then go tobplay it, tje audio works but the video will be sruck for about two seconds. The items on the pull out menu (tv shows, movies, downloads, etc) often dissappear and have to be repinned.
This is a fraction and a lot of peoplw of delt with this stuff times ten and for years. I could make the list massive compared tk this but its pointless. I get them the logs, they acknowledge the issue, say they will address it at some point, never do and give us this discovery trash instead.
What client are you talking about?
Android (mobile). Its a complete disaster.
What version of Android is your phone running?
12…One UI 4.1
I urge you to try a Google Pixel phone next time. I have little to no problems with Plex on it. Including downloads.
I’ve had about five different Android phones i have used with plex and these issues have followed from one to another. For instance… when you finish a DOWNLOADED episode on your phone, it will be marked as finished on your server? Or if you use the quick side bar on a library, it doesn’t shoot back to the top? If so, you are the first person i have seen that doesn’t have these issues.
No I don’t have an issue quick scrolling with the bar on the right. I also tap the screen when I stop. It doesn’t instantly “shoot” back to the top. It’s fairly trivial to make it stop. It’s definitely not a game changer. I can also flick the screen and it will scroll just as fast.
Why would a downloaded episode be marked as finished on the server? Usually the reason to use downloaded media is because you don’t have internet access… what is it spose to do? Save the status in a queue and change it later when the internet works? You really didn’t watch it on the server so why would it need to be marked on the server?
I honestly dont think you understand the purpose or functionality of Plex. 100% a fibished episode on what ever client you are suing (streaming or downloaded) is suppose to be marked completed on the server as well…thats the whole point of Plex.
Says who? I can make an argument that downloads aren’t spose to be marked complete. Just like specifying the Android app to use an external media player to play your files won’t be marked complete either.
I don’t understand the purpose or functionality of Plex but I’m the one who provided a flawless IPTV setup to the community and a nginx script to force the clients to max bitrate.
So to ask my question again… what is it spose to do? Save the status in a queue and change it later when the internet works? What if the whole reason someone is using downloads is because they won’t have internet access where they’re going? How is it gonna mark it complete then?
You are telling me that you honestly think that a finished downloaded episode isnt suppose to be shown as fonished on your server under the same user? Because you better tell Plex because they have acknowledged it as an issue (just havent fixed it). And writing a script has ZERO to do woth not realizing a fibished episode on any client is suppose to show up as finished on a server or any other client when using the same user.
It’s not a big deal nor even close to a deal breaker.
