Everything Transcodes in Chrome After Chrome Update

Server Version#: Version 1.18.1.1973
Player Version#: Build in web player of plex media server

After chrome got updated this or last week every movie or serie you play transcodes video and audio. I have all my files in h264 with AAC stereo. Before the chrome update everything direct streamed . Now everything gets transcoded . If i use another browser edge or firefox everything direct plays . So does this need to be fixed server side or chrome side ?

I redacted my ip but here you can see it says direct stream disabled but its not its only doing that with chrome on firefox and edge no issue.

On the mac platform, Catalina. All Browsers are affected, Safari, Firefox, Chrome.

Had not noticed as I rarely use the Server Browser for viewing

i have to edit my message :smiley: aac transcode is normal when you have ac3 in web . It is not compatible. But yours direct plays the video so that is how it should be . What version of chrome do you run ?

Because my new chrome transcodes everything.

I’m sorry, I should have been more clear

  1. Verify DEBUG logging enabled in Server, VERBOSE is OFF
  2. Recreate and let run for 10 seconds
  3. Stop Playback
  4. wait 30 seconds
  5. Download Logs (Settings - Server - Troubleshooting)
  6. Attach ZIP (so I can search and scroll)

i allready found the problem :open_mouth: and its fixed now

This is what i did
Set upload speed instead of 1000mbps to 10000mbps and
i checked this checkbox : treat wan ip as lan for bandwidth.

Now everything direct plays again .
