Exclude certain libraries from My Watchlist History

My Watchlist History shows all TV-Show or Movie libraries indiscriminately of if you want it or not.

When you share libraries, you can select specific libraries you want to or don’t want to share.
You might not want to share watch history from these either.

There is an option on libraries today, to exclude them from Home page and Global search results.
I suggest that this option also excludes it from your Watchlist History.
Or at the very least give an extra option to exclude a library from the public watchlist history.

Thanks for the suggestion @Popupkiller . We are always looking to see how we can make these features better going forward. I will being this idea up with the team, but there are a few challenges with this approach that might make things a bit challenging to implement. I would also like to take the opportunity to point out that we do offer the ability to remove individual activities from your watch history on your profile. While this isn’t as broad as preventing any activities from an entire server library, it at least gives you the option to remove specific items if you choose to do so. Thanks! :plexheart:

I did notice you can delete an item from the watch history.
But this requires you to remember to do it, have a device close by to do it before any of your friends look at your history. Or before the e-mail is sent that informs your friends of what you have been watching.

This leads me to rather want to be safe than sorry, and not let anyone have access to my watched history, as its a risk of serious embarrassment.

Good grief, does it do that as well…

It’s one thing for them to be able to see your watchlist if they can be bothered, but sending that info via email as well.

So if my friends have not set their watchlist status to private, am I now going to get emails about what my friends have watched?

Hmm, found the page to disable all the emails. BUT I was subscribed to everything… and am sure I had unsubscribed a long time ago. Not Good

That’s how I noticed it was a thing yes.
I got an e-mail called “Your week in review is ready” where it lists what’s trending on my friends servers, as well as a few of the things they watched with a link to see more friend activity, and an option to add the things they watched to my watchlist.

This prompted me to check the security of the content I watch in libraries that are not shared with anyone, and that content does show up in the watched history, meaning it could show up in the review sent to friends.

That becomes a bit unworkable if you have used plex for a very long time… My watch history seems to have over 4500 items in it, checking for things I don’t want to share is not easy…
