Exit plex app

on TCL Roku TV the home button used to close the plex app, now you have to hit the back button several times (depending how deep you are) to get to a screen to “exit” the app. this isn’t ideal because sometimes the app freezes and the only option is to reboot the TV, whereas before I could just hit the home button to exit the app.

is there a way programmatically to exit the app from say ecp commands?

Does the Home button still work from Netflix or Youtube?

Yes those apps and all others still close when I hit the home button.

To be clear the home button still goes to home, however it does not close the Plex app any longer.

How can you tell?
I have Hisense Roku TV’s not TCL.

because when i hit home, and open plex back up, it reloads to whatever plex screen i left it on.

Ah, ok. Sorry, none of this is helping you. Just being nosey.

Have you tried the Plex Preview version for Roku. That’s all I use.

that’s all i use as well. but just for the record, both versions are behaving the same.

Mine does the same thing with Plex. I just never noticed it I guess.
It does it with Netflix too.
I have two profiles. If I reboot the TV or enough time elapses I have to select a profile. If I go to Home and open Netflix again it opens to where I was.

I believe that’s expected, and was a Roku change. I like it a lot.

See the last two bullets:

I believe so too.
It’s the same with all of my Roku devices not just TV’s.

ya, i don’t necessarily mind the new function, I would just like to know if there is a way to force close it remotely. like with ecp commands.
