External notification when content plays / pauses

I’ve got a set of Philips Hue color changing LEDs in my living room. I’d really love it if it was possible to get plex to emit notifications on the network somewhere when content was played / paused so that I could tie that into the room lighting and automatically dim the lights when playing, and bring them back up when we stop content.
