I have my all movies grouped by their year of release. I also have another group for the sequels. So, instead of duplicating the movies, I just add them referencing their individual folders. When I do that, all EXTRAS under the movie show up as different movies. If I copy the movie folder with its EXTRAS into the sequels folder, the EXTRAS don’t show up at all! I attached a pic where it shows the EXTRAS in my sequels group.
Any idea other that put a “z” in the sort by field when you edit the clip?

Does this mean, you have a Plex Movie library for every release year?

Do you mean you add the folder of that movie directly to your ‘sequels’ library?
This won’t work. Plex needs to ‘see’ the top folder for the movie. Of you add it to the library directly, this is not working. Plus the number of folders you can add to a library is limited.
Or do you use something else, like ‘symbolic links’?

Sorry, I don’t understand what you are referring to, here.
Yes, I know that part, as the rest is working fine. The movies have a EXTRAS folder called Featurettes like in the pic attached. This is assigned to my group of movies for 2016. You see the extras folder there, and when you browse the 2016 group there are no extras as movies. But if I edit the Sequels group and select to ADD A FOLDER, and browse to the folder that contains them, then I select the folder of the actual movie, which contains the extras folder, then Plex add the movie AND the extras as movies, as I showed in my previous pic:

Yes, this is exactly what doesn’t work. You cannot do that. By adding the movie folder directly to your library, you are making the folder name invisible to Plex. This won’t work.
How about putting a ‘sequel’ collection tag on the affected movies? This much less work and it will continue to function if the number of your sequels exceeds 50 items. Plus you can ‘tag’ several movies at once.

Yes, as they look more organized, from the folder/file structure point of view. At least to me.

Yes, I can see it doesn’t work well, as it shows the extras as movies as well.

This is the KEY!!! I made a folder in the root of the group and I placed the movies in that folder, so I call that folder instead of the movie folder it self,… and… IT WORKS!!! (at least with the 2 in the pic. Tomorrow I’ll check the rest)**
Thank you

Do you know the limit? So far I haven’t seen any problem related to the number of folder/movies.

Oh, I just put a z in front of the “Sort Title” field, so the went to the bottom of the page:

That means you don’t have a Plex library for every year but just ‘year’ folders on disk.
Otherwise it’d be pretty impossible to use any filters on the whole collection (actor or director names for instance).
