So with this announcement –
– we again have events being sent to Facebook from a plex app.
This is concerning to me! I never have and never will have a facebook account. I have a plex account and resent that any data is sent to facebook, even if its anonymous without my approval.
The fact that the current scope of the data is limited to installs and app opens is completely irrelevant. A device of mine is now intentionally sending data to facebook via a third party app (plex). Disguesting.
If its not clear already this will be a deal breaker for me using plex going forward if not removed I’ll be moving on from plexmediaserver (jellyfin). I have already removed the plex app from my android clients.
I also plan on contacting European Data Protection Commission for them to investigate if its legal for applications to send any data (even anonymous) to another company without my prior approval.
