Failing to download subtitles manually

Server Version#: 1.19.5.3112

For some of my files the automatic subtitle download did not work so I needed to manually select the file. This worked perfectly up until today, when I first intermittently got a “failed to download subtitle” and now I get that error every time I try to download the subtitles.

The error is the one you can see in this image:

The server logs seem to not be up to date for the opensubtitles plugin, showing me only logs from half an hour ago that make no mention of failed downloads.

For the sake if simpler reporting, it would be nice if errors were directly displayed on the UI instead of relying on an apparently unreliable logging system (or are they in memory and not yet dumped to disk?).

What can I do to diagnose this issue?

Same here… This just happened today. Yesterday I was able to look for subtitles and downling them manually.

Now neither this nor the automatic download via metadata refresh is working.

I was really enjoying plex, but wrestling with the subtitles has probably been one of the most frustrating experiences with software in a long time. Trying to add them manually is a nightmare (who thought having to match the name EXACTLY was a good idea???)

Would any of you mind getting their server logs right after trying to download one.

thank god for Sub-Zero plugin but now im running Bazarr and this is pretty simple to setup and works

been happening for me as well, server on windows. First noticed it yesterday.

Someone mentioned automatically downloading subtitles. How does one configure that?
