FAQ 26 for Synology DS220+ has made a huge difference for transcoding

Here is a screenshot of the resulting transcoded video, I haven’t seen any odd artefacts yet.

Before applying the fix in FAQ 26 I couldn’t even transcode a single x265 which was only 2GB in size, but now I can (at the same time) transcode 2 x265 files of this size plus a couple of 1080p files which are H264. It’s a massive improvement.

Hi thanks for this good feedback. FAQ 26 seems worthy, but I don’t find the FAQ 26 on your link. Is that another tutoriel ?

FAQ 26 is no longer required.
The Intel iHD driver issue was fixed in Plex version 1.21.0.3608.
HDR → SDR Tone Mapping was released in Plex version 1.21.0.3616.
The latest version of Plex is 1.21.0.3711.

Do we need to manually remove the FAQ26 workaround and out of curiosity is there a further speed improvement?

YES! Remove the workaround.
No speed improvement.
Transcode improvement for higher (80+ Mbps) source videos (the i965 has throttling issues - old design)

I really am still experiencing the H/W transcode issue. I’ve on current versions of plex for my syno. Can I get access to the old FAQ 26 to try it as a work around?
