Just skimmed the new Fast Company profile about Plex. There’s some interesting things in it about the direction of the company, including their desire to start into the content delivery market. I hope they’re smart about it because I don’t see Plex and streaming services being competitive. I see them as being complimentary because (unlike music streaming) there is a MASSIVE gap between what movies have been made and what’s available to stream (although the gap is closing, the continuing fragmentation will soon make it as expensive as cable). So for me Plex fills a needed void of content that I always want access to - because no streaming site guarantees that except perhaps original series from the big stream sites. Anyway, that’s my 2 cents (that’s about what it’s worth too) Here’s the link: https://www.fastcompany.com/3067901/plexs-bold-plan-to-take-on-the-streaming-goliaths
Oh. And if this is their direction they REALLY need to put good time into their channels. Maybe a way of searching for content within those installed channels … I don’t know, but a lot of them don’t work (SOUNDCLOUD!!! and all of aussie tv) and they feel so tacked on…
