Fast Forward Preview Thumbnail Generation

I loaded some recorded content on my new plex server the other day. Today I tried play a few today. To my surprise I had FF preview thumbnails on the movie I loaded. Then tried one the TV episodes I loaded the other day, but no thumbnails.

I checked the settings and it was indeed set to generate thumbnails as content was added and on a schedule.

What I don’t understand is why all 10 or so files did not get processed. Is there a way to manually trigger a scan for thumbnail generation?

Maybe these are in a file format/codec which makes the process abort the generation?
It is also possible that there are no good keyframes in these files, which are by default used to generate the preview thumbs.
Try setting the hidden preference GenerateBIFKeyframesOnly to 0
so that the whole stream is decoded instead. (this will increase the time to generate the preview thumbs)
