Is there a way to FORCE video preview thumbnails generation for a video?
Typically ‘Analyse’ does the trick.
It’s not for me…
Do you have the settings set to generate thumbs:
When media is added
AND
During Scheduled Maintenance?
server/settings/library
I do - just wonder if that’s why.
Only during scheduled maintenance.
Well, flip it on for ‘When Added’ and then analyse it.
If they generate - we’ll know.
BTW: Generation is so fast now - you can just do it when it’s added and get it over with. It only takes a moment - and I mean ‘a moment’. It’s so fast it might already be done…
…and I know 'cause I thought it was broken as well - until I found out it was so fast they were done before I got there to see if they were generating…lol
Check with Plexweb - scrub the scrub bar - if they show - they’re done.
-
Check Server Settings -> Library -> Generate video preview thumbnails -> as a scheduled task and when media added
-
Must be enabled for the library. Via Plex Web: Hover over library, click on vertical ellipsis, Manage Library -> Edit -> Advanced -> Enable Video Preview Thumbnails.
-
Analyze the individual movie/show/video and/or the entire library.
Setting it for when media added as well fixed it. Thank you.
