Plex gets stuck generating video preview thumbnails

I have posted about this in the past:

Back then it was a nuisance, but now it is starting to be breaking my experience.
I have setup the server to perform maintenance every day during the night (from 12 AM to 7 AM),
now there are several media files (and I think there are over 40) where the plex process responsible for creating the preview thumbnails (the transcoder) can’t process the video file and just hangs.

Can somebody help me?

PS. I have seen that people that throw fits get better support, please don’t make me do that.
PPS. I have setup a plex server on windows too and the same behavior happens - when the server tries to make preview thumbnails, the transcoder service just hangs.

You can disable Keyframes for the thumbnail generation. It will take much longer to generate the thumbnails but it is much more reliable doing that.

The hidden option is called GenerateBIFKeyframesOnly

Thanks for this :). Applied that config option and it started processing one of the files on my test server.
Was this option always there?
