could you add an option in Clients to only allow 90Mbits before transcoding, I have some 4k video files that are above this, but my TV only has 100Mbits LAN connection, Ideally I would like all other media to be direct play / stream, but If the bitrate needs more than 90 Mbits transcode to this bitrate.
Early 2021 clean-up: based on the current default behavior it seems you should be good to go with max/original quality on your client; if Plex detects it doesn’t get sufficient bandwidth to the client, it should start transcoding to address that limitation.
