I know this has been asked in the passed (quite often), but still I would like to start the discussion again regarding the possibility of having internet radio in Plex.
Most of the other music players c.q. platforms currently are offering an internet radio feature. Think of:
- Roon
- Audirvana
- Sonos
- Bluesound
- VLC
- etc etc
It doesn’t have to be full featured. Just being able to add a stream url (for instance from somafm: https://somafm.com/groovesalad256.pls) and then play from Plex(amp) would be wonderful. It would be one more step unifying music needs towards one platform. The possibility of Internet radio might trigger people/users in using your platform more often, and thus it might have a commercial payoff.
I understand Plex needs to deal with a big backlog of internal and external requests/issues. If there is no incentive for this feature request, is someone from Plex willing to elaborate/explain who not.
