I’m sorry if any or all of these have been requested in the past - I did briefly try going through existing topics, but there was wayyyy too much to fish through so I figured I’d add my own.
I love Plex and I use it daily. I’ve had the Plex Pass for some number of years and it was easily the best software investment I’ve ever made!
However, I would love to see a number of additional libraries added to the core list. These are:
Audiobooks: I currently use the Audnexus plugin which generally works well. But as time progresses, we all know the day will eventually come where it doesn’t work at all. Please include native support for audiobooks (along with an icon that isn’t the Music library icon too, of course).[mod-edit: duplicate → Support for audiobooks]Books/Comics/Magazines: I like actual reading from time to time. An e-reader integration would be grand. I appreciate this would require a standalone app (like with Plexamp and Plex Photos) but I think it would be a marvellous addition.[mod-edit: duplicate → https://forums.plex.tv/t/plexreader-comics-books-pdfs/26684]- Retro Games: I know Plex Arcade was briefly a thing (for less than a year it seems due to some internal decisions) and I know that Retroarcher-Plex existed for a short while. I’m not hoping for anything too heavy, but retro games (I guess N64 and older) would be amazing to include support. I know you’ve already abandoned a games project previously, and while I respect your decisions, I am still hopeful that a retro gaming library will one day return.
YouTube: OK so I’m not even sure how this would work and if it’s even possible, but there are many YouTube creators I like to watch and it would be great if we could have a YouTube integration and you could select certain channels/playlists/etc. to appear (maybe content selection at server level, rather than client level).[mod-edit: previously rejected with reference to the feature suggestion guidelines, e.g. https://forums.plex.tv/t/integrate-youtube/805094]
