So a friend has graciously allowed me to use his server. A lot of our watching interests align and, while I’ve a Netflix account, it doesn’t have everything I’d like, and I don’t have the resources to setup my own Plex server [and definitely not to the level he has his], so it works out.
The problem is, I might start watching something on my phone while on the bus or downstairs cooking or whatever. But if I wanted to continue what I was watching on my PC, I’d have to wait a few minutes for the connection to close before being able to continue [the classic “Not enough streaming slots for this user”].
I asked my friend if he could fix the issue [this post helped locate the specific setting in question] and he’s found it’s global, not a per-user setting like it makes it sound like.
It may sound trivial but he’s other family and friends that also access the server and he’d like to manage everyone’s access rights individually [I’m 1 person, with 2 devices, other households have 2+ people with upwards of 5 devices, which would cripple the server].
Search first if the request has already been posted before. The goal is to collect the votes for a particular feature in one thread - not to scatter them around.
