[Feature Request] Burst Play for Roku and Xbox Clients

Add a Burst Play option to the TV Show play screen, to play a pre-set number of episodes and then stop.

I know you can hit play on a season or even a whole show to start continuous play, but for people using roku (or some other streaming devices) this causes a problem if you use a sleep timer. My wife and I fall asleep to the tv, we use a sleep timer, but the Roku doesn’t turn off, it doesn’t stop playing when the TV turns off. So the next morning, the entire season is marked as watched. I would liken this to NEtflix’s “Are you still watching” feature. This would also be good for binge watchers who have a hard time deciding to get off the couch. I think this would be helpful for any client app that attaches to a TV.

I think this would be pretty easy to implement

  1. Add a setting to the settings page called Burst Play (number of episodes) [# drop-down]
  2. Add a Burst Play icon to the episode play screen (below Play button)
  3. When selected it will pre-queue the number of Episodes set in the settings.

Anyone else see a need for this? Pressing play on a show continuous plays everything, would be good to be able to set a limit…,

I want an option to have it stop after the episode ends. Right now I go in and load up the latest episode and once it over it loads up the previous episode?!? Even if it was meant to autoplay all episodes (and I wish it didn’t), it should STOP after playing the latest, most recent one. Who watches them in reverse order?
