Some car manufacturers (Toyota, Ford…) limit the number of items in a list when the car is in motion. I have a fairly large music collection and if my Toyota CarPlay implementation of PlexAmp displays correctly the list of Artists grouped by #, A, … Z, when the car is at a stop, as soon as it moves above ~5mph, it only displays 12 items, #, A, … K. So my car decides for me that Adele is ok when driving, but zzTop is an absolute no !!! The same happens at each level of the navigation: if an album has more than 12 tracks, I can only pick track 1 to 12.
Response from Toyota Customer Support: this is an option of the CarPlay API offered for safety reasons—to avoid scrolling through long lists when driving. Not all the car manufacturers follow this logic (Nissan…) and the work around is… to grab your phone—which is even more dangerous !!! …or to fight with Siri until you give up.
Ok, so the FEATURE REQUEST: add a parameter in the settings (e.g. 12) that would cause the lists to be nested into multiple levels, with no more than xx ( e.g 12) items. For example, “Artists”: #, A-C, D-F, G-H, …. Next level of “Artists”: A-Ha to Alabama, The Alan Parsons, to America, etc.
