Hi,
At the moment, when you browse an item inside a video library and click on one of the “actors” thumbnails, Plex shows you other media with the same actor inside the library you are browsing, but doesn’t search in other libraries. I sometimes watch a movie and recognize an actor I’ve seen elsewhere, and it’s a pity that Plex can’t easily show me that this actor plays in one of the TV shows referenced in that library.
Moreover, the search engine does show you results in several libraries at once, which shows the Plex engine has the capability to do just that, so I guess I could find the TV show my movie actor is in. But it’s more cumbersome to doi it this way: I have to first identify the actor, and go to search, type the name, whereas it could be as simple as a click on his thumbnail.
I’ve seen this topic in other closed threads. I haven’t seen any official response from the dev team. If the dev team reads this, do you think that could be implemented? It could be as simple as clicking the thumbnail, displaying the “inside-the-library” results with an additional button that says “more…” or whatever that allows you to launch a universal search directly from here. What do you think?
Thanks
Boris
