[Feature Request] Dashboard added to Plex Taskbar icon for Usage, Statistics, Popular Shows/Movies

It would be useful to have a small dashboard added to the Plex Taskbar icon. Something that would graphically show usage statics, what is getting watched (popular) and what is not, uptime, and any other activity that would be beneficial to the administrator of the server. Not necessarily needed to have user names included, but available if the admin wants to deep dive something.

Usage Stats:
How many items played from each library
peak times, length, # of users, bandwidth usage
most active users
Server uptime/downtime

Library stats:
most watched in each
least watched or not at all
no. of items not watched completely
most recommended show/movie

There is so much more that could be included. Maybe the dashboard could be configurable by each admin to the own taste as to what they want to track.

Thanks

Not sure if this is exactly what you’re looking for, and yes it is a 3rd party app but I’ve been using plexpy (and it’s spiritual predecessor plexwatch) for a while and it’s got most of what you’re asking for.

I can second PlexPy. At least until we get these kinds of tools integrated into the Plex Web App itself.

In just a few short months PlexPy has become one of the most useful tools I have for monitoring my PMS. I’ve used It to troubleshoot a couple of screwy clients and made their usage of Plex run so much smoother. Seeing a streaming session buffer with PlexPy has helped me to eliminate buffering for these problem clients.

My users appreciate the efforts I’ve taken to make their streaming smoother. I was concerned they would think my looking at their streaming habits could be seen as an invasion of privacy. But instead it gives me and my users things to talk about, ways to fix their viewing, and ideas for additional shows/movies.

It’s incredible that this functionality has to be developed outside of the Plex Web App. It should be integrated for one seamless install when PMS is first installed on a device.

This has been requested x-times already.
