Stats for nerds

It would be nice to have the “stats for nerds” like Youtube provides on every supported clients.

Thanks

try PLEXpy

While I completely agree that it would be AWESOME if Plex had stats built into the server, Plexpy does a great job.
It shows you all kinds of things, such as:

  • Total movies, music, tv episodes you have in your library, and how many of each is in you various libraries.
  • The viewing history (What time, what user, user’s IP address, platform, media title, duration time).
  • What users currently have access to your media, the last time they connected, along with their last known IP/Platform how many times they have accessed the library, their total duration, and what they last accessed.
  • What is currently being watched, what platform it is, what the transcode status is, how far into the media they are, and when the ETA of completing the media is.
  • Most active platform, most watched movie/tv/music artist, most active user, what was last watched, and most concurrent streams (what date and how many).
  • There are graphs showing the weekly/daily/hourly play count, play count by top 10 platforms, and playcount by top 10 users.
  • There is a dashboard showing all the stream info with graphs (daily stream type, resolution, platform/user, etc)
  • Graphs showing play totals… total time something was played, broken down into type… and how much each month.
  • And there is a section showing what has been synced (by who, what platform, size, etc)

Once again, if this could just be built right into Plex, it would be amazing, but Plexpy is not really too difficult to setup, and it works flawlessly.

I’m more interested in the near real time video streaming related stats which I believe every streaming app or player should provide.

Not possible I guess

Early 2021 clean-up: implemented (e.g. on Android TV, Apple TV…)
