[FEATURE REQUEST] - Easier Photo Library Album Poster / Background Selection (From Existing Photo)

Hi There,

I’ve seen multiple posts on the forum for this over the years but can’t see any recently or any which acknowledge the issue.

Currently with a photo library and photo albums under that photo library, a seemingly random poster and background is selected for each folder/album. The only way to change the album poster/background seems to be to edit the photo album and click Poster/Background… Only three options are given:

Chose and Image (this opens a local file upload dialog, not those already in the album)
Drag and Drop (this is for local files, not those already in the album)
Enter a URL

There seems to be no easy way of selecting an existing photo in the album as the Poster/Background for the Album.

Could a feature please be added such that when viewing the photos in an album, there is an option for a particular photo to “Set as Album Poster” and “Set as Album Background”?

Plex generally doesn’t publish their roadmap or timeline. Feature requests are not guaranteed to be implemented. There are requests that existed far longer than this one that were eventually implemented. The point of keeping votes in a single thread, rather than splitting them across multiple ones, is to make it easier to keep track, and to gauge the level of interest.
