If I go to edit a photo album and want to change the poster, I should be able to quickly pick from all the photos in said album with the same ease that we have for picking different movie posters. It seems strange that the only way that I can pick a different picture to use as the cover poster for an album is to go and find the image I want within the album, download said photo, and then upload it to the poster picker page. I can’t even right-click an image within the album and grab a URL direct to instead - I have to download it (or access it from the native directory).
An alternative (or additional) option that would be very useful would be to add an item within the “…” menu of a picture to set as the poster for the album in which it’s placed. That method is potentially easier to implement and would be very helpful!
Agreed, this is an annoying feature. Why don’t we get the ability to “promote” any photo to album cover, like they do with other tools like Flipboard? Just add an option on the EDIT selection and away we go, to go along with eliminating the file size limitation.
As an alternative or addition to the proposal, I would suggest implementing a “use local assets” option in the photo agent. If enabled, the “cover.jpg” and “background.jpg” photos are interpreted as local assets for rendering the folder cover and background, rather than as photos.
