With the Plex Dash launch this morning, aside from the login/connection issues people are having to start with, once you can get into it (update via apt-get helped me, at least restart your servers folks) it is pretty promising.
I’m a little disappointed that the only edit option for media is the cover art.
Being able to dive in and edit meta data, and for TV shows, for that to be at show, season and episode level would be amazing.
Being able to fix matches would be even better. Often enough I’ll find a match is wrong when I go to watch something and get something different to the metadata.
Being able to fix it from my tablet (which is pretty much always on the coffee table) would be great.
Ideally we would fix Plex Server so it doesn’t randomly re-match items that haven’t changed in the file system, but that will be a more complex piece of work and being able to fix them without wandering over to the desktop to do so would be fine by me
Anyone know how to set up push notifications for when someone starts playing from your plex server, just installed PlexDash and cannot find it anywhere?
Don’t think that feature is in PlexDash because it is already in the main Plex app, and you could wind up with redundant notifications. Would probably be a sensible add though, since the playback notifications would be more useful in PlexDash.
I get playback notifications from the Plex App. You might have to enable them under Settings (Gear Icon) > Notifications > Playback Started, by checking the server(s) you want to monitor.
For the record, I’m on Android. If you’re on iOS, this could be slightly different.
That said, the notifications in the Plex app aren’t really actionable, so hopefully they port the notification functionality to Dash.
