Feature Request - Handle Multiple Episodes spanning one file like Netflix/Amazon/etc. do

I’m surprised Plex does not handle this like Netflix, especially for kids shows (Curious George, Paw Patrol, etc). Most kids shows have two 10 minute episodes crammed in. Everyone I’ve explained this to that is a low level user finds it confusing how Plex handles multiple episodes spanning one file.

I would expect naming a show something like xxxe01-e02xxx…
Not to give me two entrees to the same file with different metadata, but to combine the metadata on the description.

Instead of :
Episode 1 Title
Some episode 1 description.
Points to file xxxxe01-e02xxxx…
And
Episode 2 Title
Some episode 2 description.
Points to file xxxxe01-e02xxxx…

You should get a combination of the metadata:
Episode 1 title/Episode 2 title
Some episode 1 description/Some episode 2 description.
Points to file xxxxe01-e02xxxx…

That’s how every video streaming service handles it. This makes more sense to the common user, especially if they are used to Netflix. Having two episodes point to the same file with the same starting point is confusing.

This is probably a bit of an outlier of a request I will admit that mostly pertains to children’s shows.

Especially for Kids tv shows this is would b great as for example “Jake and the neverland pirates”. The tvdb data list every episode individual, but on TV or DVD there are always two episodes together.

There are already many requests for this. Closing this as per the forum rules for duplicate feature requests.

Here’s a couple (there are more):
