I would like to see a Portable install option that would automatically set the data folder to be in the same folder Plex is being installed into…Checking this option during install could set the autorun to use the P flag for portable.
i.e. plex_media_server.exe -p
People who would benefit from this:
Users who have SSD drives as their system drive.
Users who upgrade, wipe, re-install their OS or have a catastrophic system drive failure will have no need to rebuild their library.
Users with very large libraries.
Would make it possible to run small library version of Plex server on a stick (such as Android stick) that could be toted around.
Note to Mods: This is different than my previous request for asking for data save location since this would be easier for the users with little experience to use and should be much easier to implement since the Installer already has the location set to install to and simply needs to set the data folder accordingly.
