Hello all, I have been using for a while now and only use it for music. I’ve had some ups-and-downs with it. There was a time it worked relatively well for a while and I was liking it. I recently had my 2nd internal hard drive go south and need to re-install Plex as I lost my database in the process. What I would like to do is install Plex media server on my C: drive, but define the location of the server and/or db’s to be stored on my 2nd internal drive. Can I do this while installing, or do I need to install and then move it? What I found when trying to do this and selecting D:\Data\Plex, it installed Plex there, but the server itself still showed to be on the C drive in the normal appdata location. I want to specify that the server db go to D:\Data\Plex.
Install Plex Server from scratch, but defiine the server location on separate drive upon installatio
Install first, then set the location for the Plex data folder. See [HowTo] An extended guide on how to move the Plex data folder on Windows for details.
Thank you so much for the quick reply. This is very helpful. I really appreciate you taking the time to reply.
