Feature request: Maximum bitrate as server setting

Currently the most-requested (liked) unimplemented feature request as far as I’m aware. It was over 825+ likes last time I checked. But silence from the dev steam on this.

I would also like the ability to set maximum outbound speed and resolution for each of my shared users on a per user basis on my server. My library is mostly uncompressed Blu-Ray rips and my current workaround is to encode another copy of my entire library as higher compressed 720p for my shared users.

Agreed. Please consider this feature! Our standard home internet connections can only handle so much!

Move to Kansas City and get google fiber

I agree with this feature request as well. It is highly needed to set a maximum upload for your server and have it dynamically adjust streams as users connect or set a maximum upload per user.

Please yes… and gpu transcoding too

So… this feature request is like at least two years old. No statement from Plex as such. Will this ever be implemented? Or do we just wait until our connections are fast enough? Please give us an answer Plex. Much apprechiated.
