[Feature Request] More info on "Fix Incorrect Match" screen

Hello,

Just had a problem getting the correct metadata on a film called Split from 2016. It turns out that there are at least four movies called Split that were released in 2016. That’s hardly Plex’s fault but I wonder whether it could be made easier to deal with by presenting some extra information when you try to fix the incorrect match?

At the moment, the search options don’t present any way to differentiate apart from title and year and then, even worse, the list of results only gives the same information. The top four results for this film were completely indistinguishable (see attached image). I just had to pick from them at random, then wait a few minutes for the metadata to load, before finding out whether I’d lucked into the right one. I suppose this film is unusual in having four exact duplicates, I’ve certainly never encountered it before, but searching by two data points and then only presenting those two data points in the results seems like a recipe for confusion.

I’m not quite sure what extra information to suggest that would fit easily into the UI. Perhaps a column for director? That ought to distinguish pretty well. Alternatively, perhaps there could be access to a pop-up or expanding section for more info on hover or on clicking a “more info” or “expand” button?

Anyone else got any suggestions for resolutions? Or is this film such an unusual case that there’s no real problem?

While I agree that the film you’ve picked is very edge-case, it would be nice to have a web link to the entries so they could be manually checked perhaps?

Or just show more information, like the poster, which is already possible for albums as it seems.

Technically, the movie in question released in 2017 and named ‘Split (2017)’ with TMDB as an active agent there is only one. You wouldn’t know that however unless you went to TMDB and viewed the various ‘Release Information’ entries - that I did when Plex couldn’t make up it’s mind which Split I wanted when it was named ‘Split (2016)’.

I have violent allergic reactions to using Fix Match, so I do serious investigations when forced to use it the 5 or 6 times I have used it. I opted for a rename to ‘Split (2017)’ in this case.
