I would like to start seeing more transcoding codec’s and have the ability to choose the preferred order of said codecs.
For Example, I would like to transcode in AV1, VP9, H265, H264
I do understand that AV1 has not been added to FFmpeg yet. This needs support first.
I’ve worked hard enough to be able to afford a powerful plex media server but I’m still limited to a 20mbps upload. I need to find a way to cut that bitrate while keeping the quality. I am servicing quite a few family members which I have turned them onto more powerful devices like the nvidia shield which can decode VP9 quite easily. Any device in the last few years that can play YouTube should be able to decode VP9.
