I have hooked up Homerun with a cable card and both my live and DVR are working great. However i would very much like other users to be able to setup DVR recordings.
Also i would like to be able to setup DVR specific libraries and choose which ones each user has access to and can choose to record to. Not only would i like to setup a personal library for each user’s DVR but if say a user wanted to record an event which other users would also want to see, it would be nice to be able to select a different library or folder to record that show to.
For example - If i was recording a football game that 3 users wanted to watch, any one of use could setup the recording and select a common library or folder for it to record to. Then again, if i wanted to record a history program no one else would want to watch, i would want to recorded to my account and for it to not show up in a library under any one else’s account.
Finally, It would be nice if the primary user had a notification if too many shows are being recorded at once. i believe the home run/cable card is able to handle 3 programs at once. If a user tries to record a program and there are already 3 being recorded at the time i would like that program to be put on a wait list accessible by the primary user. The primary can then log on and see both which shows are being recorded and which shows are on the wait list. It would also be helpful to see any upcoming repeats of shows in the guide, this way the primary user can select which shows and when should be recorded. These repeats should also show up when a user first tries to record a show, this way they could schedule it for a completely different time and avoid any recording conflicts that the primary user may have to adjust.
All of these requests are needed by me as well. Specifically the title issue of plex managed users having access to all the DVR capabilities is my main concern.

Essential in a multi user environment for managed users to be able to set recordings. Add the options, its up to the system admin to decide how to manage their own server and family (and delete recordings, there’s a separate feature request for that). BTW, took quite some effort to find this feature request, and has to be more than 3 people want this.
Have enabled live TV for each user after getting DVR working last week. Bit of an insult to the users that they can browse the guide but the record button is greyed out, hardly going to encourage my teenage them to use Plex rather than torrent what they’re after (which is what I’m trying to do). And my wife finds something she want so to record, she has to ask me?

I was kind of surprised by the bad reaction I got from my users to the “new” DVR feature. Pretty soon it all came down to missing options for “my” users. Not beeing able to record their own tv show is quite nasty. I mean having to ask someone to record their favorite show is kind of VCR style from the 80s!!
So I would say +1 with emphasis
