I would like managed users to be able to record shows using the DVR functionality and be able to access the Recording Schedule. I shouldn’t have share an admin account in order for users to record shows they’d like to watch.

Agreed. I would like to see a menu of rights that could be passed on to certain accounts by the admin.
But with only 8 votes, I don’t see this happening anytime soon.
Yes, this is necessary! I do not want to have to give devices my admin account just to manage recordings. I have a managed user for that.

Totally agree. Anyone in the household should be able to record shows just like it would be possible with regular cable interfaces. Or at least the ability to delegate the permissions to others. Just surprised that option wasn’t provided when DVR functionality was added.

Think this is as simple as adding a checkbox to each user to “Enable DVR Recording Management”. I guess the hard part is deciding whether a recording is private or public. With the admin-only option now, everything is public. This doesn’t seem hard to overcome as HDHomeRun’s DVR seems quite capable of private recordings and shares the same recording if multiple people try to record the same show.
Plex is clearly trying to unify media sources but leaving a single person in-charge of all recordings seems like an oversight. Please allow DVR control by more than the admin.

I dont know why the ability to record is blocked behind admin.
This really should be added. I want to get rid of our set top box and replace it with Plex but this is a real limiting factor. The rest of my family not being able to set recordings is a real issue.
Second here, I’m even having issues with the HomeUsers.
Wow, it was bad enough that grid view and future schedule are not available on the Roku interface, but now my wife can’t schedule or delete recordings with her user regardless of the client? I seem to keep stepping on landmines with Plex; quite disappointing.
Please add the ability to manage who can delete and schedule recordings separately for live TV.
