I would like to use the Metadata on the web client to select the correct information on Music in particular. I have organized TV shows and movies easily, but the sheer volume of music has made sorting the various music I’ve collected over decades a bit daunting.
The Album information selected on Plex is pretty accurate, but I was hoping that making Metadata changes to albums on the Web client would in turn, sort the files for the music in folders by: Artist>Album>Track#-Title.flac (or whatever extension).
This way the data on Plex can by rsync’ed to local computers for backup while retaining the organization in Plex. Until now, I had been using Window’s Media Player to perform this sorting, but the database it uses to update Metadata is less desirable than the one on Plex.
