Feature Request--Parental Controls for Music Library

I really appreciate the parental controls for movies and TV, and they work fantastically; but there isn’t anything like that for the music libraries, and I could really use them. One of my children has aggression/anger issues and consistently wants to listen to music I have on at my wife’s request that amplifies his aggressive tendencies (Avenged Sevenfold and Five Finger Death Punch and the like, which are not exactly helpful for trying to encourage compassion and self-management in an adolescent). I’ve been trying to get him into punk in order to at least focus the aggression in a more appropriate direction, but that’s another conversation.

Anyway, as an anarchist and a musician, obviously I’m not nuts about the idea of limiting what music a person can listen to, but it would be really helpful as a parent to be able to keep all the music available to the adults while leaving certain artists and/or specific albums unavailable to the kids. I don’t know much about programming, but I was thinking either the same kind of rating/restriction system currently in use for movies and TV, or maybe even just the ability to throw a “parental advisory” tag on that will be recognized by the “younger kid/older kid” restriction levels, whatever’s easiest for the development team. Or y’all could probably come up with something better than those options, you know more than I do.

Seeing as what you’re looking to limit his access to is personal (and there’s unlikely to be any source for applying a rating system) wouldn’t you be better of putting music he won’t have access to in a separate library and just not grant him access?

FWIW I suspect anything will be futile as he’s going to find it anyways regardless of what restrictions you try and impose.
