One of the big draws for me for buying the Plex subscription was the home users / family controls. Also the enhanced music library. So now I use Plex for most of my home music needs, I started thinking it would be nice if we could have ‘ratings’ for music as well. That way when dad’s home alone, he can blast GWAR (for example), and when the kids are listening, well, they cant. Something simple like an ‘explicit’ or ‘non-explicit’ tag would be great to be add to the metadata in order to quickly restrict access, just like we can for Movie and TV ratings.
This is possible with ‘Labels’ on a per-album basis.
Labels are always a “white-list”. You must add the ‘Allowed for kids’ label (however you name it) explicitly to an album.
The kids will then be only able to listen to albums with that label.
