I would like to propose a feature for discussion.
I have a section in Plex devoted to “Adult Content”. It would be very nice if there was a way to password protect this section, and not have this section come up in previews or general recently added. The only way I have found to do something like this is to have multiple plex media servers running on multiple ports. This is a major waste of resources. It would be really cool to be able to wall off sections of your media with a password, and make that section unavailable without entering a pin.
If I have missed a feature or an existing plugin, please let me know.
I have just joined the Plex community and I too would love to have this feature. I would like to extend it to all content though, I would like to manage some tv shows (Dexter, Game of Thrones, etc)and music that I would prefer my children not have any access to.
Not sure if I need to have a plex pass to make requests, but I will be getting one soon.
This is the most prefered feature im looking for! A MUST HAVE!

I guess i need to add to this post as this is also a option i would like. Its main purpose is to allow people to keep some material unavailable to kids, such as R rated or violent material.

Even my non-tech wife wants this feature! I separated content by Kids TV Shows, Mom and Dads TV Shows. I would love to be able to assign a pin number to the grown up libraries to keep the kiddos out.
I also would really appreciate this as a feature, for the same reasons as above. I have video that I put on the plex server specifically for the kids, and some that is specifically for me, each in their own sections. A pin code for a particular section to be accessed seems like it would be doable, doesn’t it?

I would like to see a form of restriction. My kids could get access to the “Kids” section, and the parents can see the other ones. But also the management section should be protected (admin only). No any user on the system can add sections delete movies etc…
+1 on this as well. Doesn't have to be any fancy encryption or anything, but just a 4-6 digit PIN to keep the kids out of certain sections would be great.

Why does the Plex team never respond to these topics? There are 3 or 4 threads scattered about these forums specifically asking for protected areas...
I'll throw my +1 in this thread, too, but I doubt we'll see a response. :/
Agree, this is the one feature that is keeping me from buying the full premium version. The lack of response isn't helping either though.
