Would love to be able to mark files/movies/tv shows as adult content.
So that users would have to reenter the password of their account to be able to view the movie.
Lets say you have a family with kids. Your plex is logged in on the TV and your kid wasn’t to watch a movie.
He see’s in the list “A Serbian Movie” and starts watching it.
It would be nice that the server owner could flag them as “adult” or something so that they have to reenter the password or chosen pin code to gain access to the file
Right now you have “Home Users” Which works for your own server.
But not for libraries that get shared from someone else.
As @OttoKerner stated. This type of request has been asked before.
You might want to take a look at PlexHome & managed users. Buy a monthly plex pass and try it out. It is about the best option as of now to restrict kiddies from “adult content”.
@OttoKerner I agree with @NewPlaza & @o_elkeleni_gmail_com…
Plex Home only caters for the instances where the content is accessible via a home user device. What about the cases where you use PlexConnect on an AppleTv? See THIS thread… It’s all good and well restricting content for devices but with smart homes and smart devices - surely something can be built to password protect PlexConnect streaming to restrict content?
PlexConnect is a 3rd party add-on and is not an official Plex client. As such, it is totally unsupported. It sounds as if it never got extended to support Plex Home.
The first official Plex client for the Apple TV runs on the Apple TV 4.
Thank @OttoKerner
Yes you are correct - but, Plex for Apple TV only runs on the never generation Apple Tv’s and as far as I know it apparently also does not allow for content restriction. I could be wrong here - I don’t have an Apple Tv4
