I'd like to be able to select a slower update frequency for some directories. All new media is downloaded one hard drive, I want to scan it as often as possible. Other drives are archive disks and are not updated as often, I don't want to unnecessary wake them up every 15 minutes.
Edit: This can be closed, disks don't actually spin up
Have you looked at the "Update my Library Automatcially" feature?
Typically, the most desirable way to keep your Libraries updated is using the Update my library automatically feature. This uses capabilities of the operating system to detect when content has changed and then initiate a Library update.

I have read where some say this still spins up all the drives but others have said it does not so YMMV
