I’m a big, big fan of Plex and it is one solid performing media player.
Recently I was looking for a solution to display our photos in a slideshow either on a TV or through a computer monitor and although there are numerous solutions out there, I was already using Plex for my movies, it was just as easy to use that for my photos, which is great!
I have searched the forums here (and on Google) and was surprised how many people were asking the same question I was? Is it possible to have some settings added to change the speed of the slideshow? Being able to add 10 - 15 seconds between photos would be great.
Add me to this request, but even more important for me is being able to navigate manually using the remote while in full screen mode with no control overlay, kind of like using the arrow keys on a keyboard in almost all photo galleries on the web.
I am really surprised that PLEX has yet to address this issue. I have been searching for ways to make the slideshow more appealing (aka useful at all) and so far all I have found is YEARS of people asking the same question. PLEX, do you not want us enjoying Photos, is this strictly a video service?
I found a workaround that worked temporarily about halfway down here, but for some reason after slowing down the slideshow, when I came back later to watch again, it had sped back up and the setting was unchanged. Very disappointed. Please give us a way to set the speed of slideshows! Many of my pictures don’t even load during the ridiculously fast five second time frame.
Also looking for this feature. I would like to use Plex on an old android tablet as a digital picture frame. Using the plex photo feature would be perfect, but need the ability to configure delay time between photos and need slideshow/shuffle capabilities. I would like to see the ability to configure delay time on photo slide show on the web client and I’d like to have the slideshow/shuffle feature with configurable delay time added to the android client.
Add me to the list that would like all these suggestions implemented! I would also like to see a screensaver feature added that pulls from your photo’s or selected “folder” that you created instead of the plex logo bouncing around the screen.
Also, is it possible to add “Collections” tags to photos? for example., IIf you have James Bond as a tag to group all your James Bond films with the soundtracks in you MUSIC, it would be nice to add the Poster gallery to the collection as an option if you have them under PHOTOS.
As someone that develops code I can say this is pathetic. It wouldn’t take even a day to implement this feature so many have requested, a week if the development team is full of goofs. Which is what I suspect, I mean who makes a slide show without a setting for the display time?
Hello. Yes, I know you called earlier… the 90s, yes i remember. Has plex still not sent you the slide show code back. Just hold on let me have a look. Its under all the asbestos they removed from the walls, thats why no one wants to touch it. I’m sorry its just going to have to stay here, in 2019 plex.
was this a pre complied library you cant edit? did you pull some code from the internet in a different language you cant read? is this some sort of licensing question? is it a bet how long you can keep paying customers despite not delivering what i would consider table stakes? perhaps this is some sort of slight related to flat earthers?
